So I wanted to look back over the past year and choose some of my favorite photos. I decided to narrow it down to my top 14 of 2014. I tried to choose pictures that evoked some sort of emotion from me or brought back a special memory. So after careful consideration, here they are (in no particular order).....I LOVE this picture. Some of my favorite people caught in the same frame. Cousins table at Thanksgiving. I love the tone, the lighting from the blinds, their angelic faces. Kaleb was saying Grace, and I'm sure he was nervous. Jack looks like he wants to laugh. Cameron probably was laughing and messing Kaleb up. I love Bella's clasped hands. Yeah, this is a good one. For the obvious reason. I don't have many pictures of all 3 of my kids together. But this is so....them. Cam dressed in full basketball uniform, including his favorite Heat hat, his mouth full of sunflower seeds. Jack brought along the basketball for a family walk on the beach. Bella with that sweet little grin & her sunglasses. The background with the perfect amount of blur. The backlighting. How pretty is she! I had so much fun with her that morning, curling her hair; I even put mascara and lipstick on her. She was loving it. I love how little girl-ish she looks here. And those dimples. Some of my favorite ornaments peeking in the background. That's Jackson's handprint in the bottom left corner. Such a great memory of my mother with Bella. Taken at a baseball game, they were picking wildflowers and Mimi was showing her how to make a necklace out of them. Sometimes things just work out. You get 6 kids, ages 10-1, all smiling and looking at the camera. And you get a picture you can cherish forever. Not sure why I love this one so much. It just screams "childhood" to me. I hope they never forget this feeling or these childhood friends. Sometimes I just want to capture so much about what it was like when they were little. The dirty knees and baseball cap. The bandaid on her shin. I can imagine her dirty fingernails and his sweaty hair. Having fun with Daddy. The boys love playing video games with him. And she just loves {pretending} she's one of the big kids. This totally captures our lives at this moment. I am in love with this football portrait I took of Jackson. A while back I decided not to waste any more money on sports (or school) pictures of my kids when I can take better ones myself. And get what I want out of it. Jackson loves to make that "tough" face when he poses for pictures. And it's perfect for football. He was wearing his new Nike receiver gloves and his pink socks for breast cancer awareness month. She loves this table, her babies. She's such a girl. This is another great childhood moment that I never want to forget. And I love this one in black & white with the light from the doors behind her. It's a soft, sweet moment. Another one of my favorite black & whites. This one tugs at my heart strings. Bella and her great-grandfather blowing out his candles together. Old and young. So much love. This was the first day of school. And they look so freakin cute! Still have a slight tan from our trip to the beach the week before. I even love Cam's long-ish hair. Their new school clothes. And their genuine smiles. Those are always so rare to catch. It doesn't get much cuter than this. Bella with her friend, Sean. Can't remember how we got them to laugh. We were rolling them up like burritos in their blankets. It was so cold that day at the baseball field. But they didn't seem to even notice. This one Josh took and I will always treasure it. Her perfect little toddler body that is growing before my eyes. Her sweet kissy lips and that precious little braid. Her arms around my neck.
When you take a photo like this, you never realize at that the time just how perfect this moment is and how much this picture will mean to you for the rest of your life. And that is what I love so much about photography.

Oh my god, I made it!!! Crazy that it's been a whole year, though. {352/365}: Josh wanted to take me and the boys to an ODU basketball game. It was a fun night for just the 4 of us. Sometimes we need a break from Bella. We had a good time. We ate pretzels and cotton candy; the boys enjoyed the game. We ran into some friends as well. And ODU won! (#childhood unplugged) {354/365}: Letter to Santa. The boys showed Bella how to spread oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer. {355/365}: Christmas morning. The boys' gifts from Santa. They were pretty happy. {356/365}: The day after Christmas. More presents. More family time. Daddy made us play our new game, Risk. It wasn't without noise, chaos, arguing and tears. Typical Tellefsen style. But I actually liked the game more than I thought I would and I know we'll enjoy playing it now that we all know how. And without Bella singing on her microphone. And Josh and Mark arguing. And Cameron throwing a fit every time he lost. {357/365}: Cam having a blast on his new trampoline with Josh. That is, until he bit his tongue. But he really likes it. It was a good Christmas. And that, my friends, is my final 365 post of 2014. Stay tuned for pics from 2015. Tomorrow starts week 1 of 52.
{344/365}: A little sibling rivalry. Lunch at AJ Gators for the Eagles v. Seahawks game. As if we don't get enough of this competition at home, Josh & I felt the need to fuel it today. For the record, I don't remember who won. But I enjoyed it. {345/365}: Miss Thang. I gave up and I just let her dress herself. Sometimes, she gets it right.
Basketball practice started this week. Which I was really excited about. I'm having sports withdrawal. I must be crazy. But the boys were really happy to be back on the court. Especially Jackson. He is intent on "getting better this year". He spends a lot of time in the driveway practicing. I didn't get any pictures this week, though. Don't worry; I'll make up for it soon. {337/365}: Tree shopping. We go to the same spot every year. We found our best tree yet this year! The boys played football; Bella wouldn't let me put her down. Something about the tree shopping she didn't like. {338/365}: O Christmas tree. {342/365}: We spent Friday night at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. It was mine & Bella's first trip there. We all had so much fun. The place was decorated for Christmas. We even saw Santa; but Bella wouldn't come within 20 feet of him. {343/365}: Movie night. This week's showing (which became Bella's next obsession): Elf. One of my favorites. The boys loved it, too. I love when they laugh out loud.
{330/365}: She loves her babies. {331/365}: This girl and her table. {332/365}: Bella's first haircut. I took her to my girl, Shari Lynn, who's been cutting my hair since 2003. She did great. We just gave her a little trim. I love her long hair so much. {333/365}: Twas the night before Thanksgiving. One of my favorite nights out of the whole year. {334/365} Thanksgiving Day. 2014. Kids table. Be still, my heart. {335/365}: Girls night out. {336/365}: Saturday, Michigan basketball game day. Gabe never forgets the kids' goodie bags.
{323/365}: Sunday night movie night. How to Train Your Dragon 2. Movie night popcorn. Boys loved it. {324/365}: Entertaining her friends. {325/365}: This is the life. {326/365}: Daddy working on Cameron's project. {329/365}: Great party hosted by the Stubbes'. Perfect end to the season.

November 2018
AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
